C’s Top Picks
The following list are workbooks or resources that C enjoys using and voluntarily chooses to work on. Workbooks are not the main focus of our days, we use them as supplements to Time4Learning and Cosmeo. C is a 2nd grader, but works on 3rd grade work for most of her subjects. Time4Learning allows the child to advance in levels, stay on level or lower if needed. This is a very flexible program.
We are currently using the McRuffy Math workbook, and do not like it. It has to much repetition for C. We have ordered Saxon Math to replace this math program for the 3rd grade.
Time4Learning: Online curriculum program
Evan-Moor: Read and Understand Stories and Activities (grade 3)
Evan-Moor: Nonfiction Reading Practice (grade 3)
Evan-Moor: Spelling (grade 3)
Evan-Moor: Read and Understand Science (grade 3 -4)
Educators Publishing Service: Wordly Wise 3000(grade 3)
American Education Publishing: The Complete Book Of… (series)
Saxon Math

Hi!
I like your blog:D I just found it through another blog. Just FYI, Saxon has plenty of repetition as well, so you might want to consider yet another curriculum. Another yack is to just do as many problems as are needed to cement the concept, and then move on!

AAAh, yes. I received the Saxon and see the same issue. I did skip through with the McRuffy, and found ourselves at the end of the book LOL! At least the Saxon is “meaty” so we won’t fly through it. What I really wanted was something to follow along with the T4L site we’re using, as a way to reinforce their lessons.
Have you ever tried Singapore Math? I’ve heard good things, BUT I worry that I will turn her off from Math if it’s too advanced for her. I really wish there was a way to find copies of these books, before purchasing
And thanks for the comments
