Thanks for your input. we are purchasing it through the homeschool buyers coop this month. Now,do you do 2 assigments on explode the code along with whatever you do on time4learning? I’m trying to get an idea if we should do both everyday. We’re currently working on time4learning 4x a week.

My son & I love Time4Learning, the reading program is fun & that is an important feature at this age, but it is meant to be a supplement. Explode the Code is more “schooly,” but is a full curriculum, the work on the screen replicates a child’s workbook, so it’s not a program that has a high fun rating. This is why we only go through two assignments a day. Time4Learning shines as a supplement to a full Phonics curriculum. I find using both programs gives us a nice balance of “schoolwork” & “fun!” Good Luck & I hope I helped!

I came onto your blog by doing a search for time4learning + explode the code online. We have been using time4learning since February for our 7 year old boys. We love it, but we use it only for language arts mostly. How does it compare to explode the code online? I’ve been thinking of purchasing it through homeschool buyers coop. Which one do you like better? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Don’t worry. It happens a lot. I now refuse to spend anything more than the 43 cents for regular postage. I just found out all my 2007-2008 stuff was received – but they didn’t receive our new LOIs – which is odd since they were in the same envelope as the quarterlies and annuals. I emailed the director and straightened it all out, but I agree it can get so frustrating.
